DESCRIPTION:A meditative concert featuring works by Arvo Pärt and GONGS. \nChamber music meets sound therapy. \nThis unique concert presents music by the world-renowned Estonian composer Arvo Pärt in an unusual combination of piano\, violin and archaic gongs. \nWorks by Arvo Pärt: \n\nFratres\nFür Alina\nSpiegel im Spiegel\nVariationen zur Gesundung von Arinuschka\nUkuaru valss\nPassacaglia\n\nPERFORMERS \nLEENA LAAS – Violinist Leena Laas has been a member of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians since 1999 and is active as both a soloist and ensemble musician. She has given solo recitals in Estonia\, Finland\, Sweden\, the Netherlands\, Russia and Germany and\, alongside the core classical repertoire\, has performed a great deal of Estonian music. Her collaboration with Nata-Ly Sakkos resulted in the CD Poème d’amour. \nFor twenty years\, the Baroque violin has been Leena Laas’s passion. She completed a second master’s degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre\, specialising in Baroque violin in the Early Music Performance programme\, and has fully mastered the instrument’s distinctive technique. Alongside her active performing career\, she teaches violin\, has led masterclasses in Kokkola\, Finland\, and Stockholm\, Sweden\, and works as a violin teacher at Keila and Nõmme music schools. \nAULI TEPPO – One of the most outstanding pianists of Estonia’s younger generation\, she became widely known through the first season of the popular television competition Classical Stars. She has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra\, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Symphony Orchestra\, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra\, Narva City Symphony Orchestra and the West Estonian Islands Chamber Orchestra. \nShe has performed in Austria\, Italy\, Switzerland\, Portugal\, Poland\, Russia and the United States. An active chamber musician\, she also frequently performs with opera singers. In the Tallinn Philharmonic and Tallinn Dance Theatre production Icons/Pärt\, most recently presented in New York\, she performed Arvo Pärt’s complete piano music. \nLILIA MÄRTMAA and DENISS VINOGRADOV – Founders of the Healing Sounds Centre HelideLab\, multi-instrumentalists\, sound therapists and educators who promote sound therapy.
