Support the Parish and the Restoration of the Church

Every donation helps keep St Elizabeth’s Church open, cared for and alive.

The parish’s income comes mainly from its members and other generous people. Parishes are not funded from the state budget: restoration, worship, salaries, electricity, heating and everyday ministry depend on supporters.

Regular giving provides stability

A standing monthly order is especially helpful. Even a small regular gift — for example €0.50 a day, about €15 a month — helps the parish board plan its work. Cash donations may be made at the parish office Monday–Thursday 10:00–14:00 and on Sundays before and after morning Mass.

To support a particular purpose, write for example “kiriku remondi heaks” (church restoration) or “helisüsteemi heaks” (sound system) in the payment description.

A donation may qualify for Estonian income-tax relief

Under Estonian tax rules, an eligible donation may be deducted from taxable income. The parish must know the donor’s Estonian personal identification code. Questions: parnu.eliisabeti@eelk.ee.

Restoration needs in 2026

The figures below are the latest status previously published on this page. Their dates distinguish them from a real-time balance.

Restored windows of the confirmation hall

Window restoration

Latest published status, June 2026: approximately €2,500 was still needed.

In June, the confirmation hall windows were restored inside and out with help from Pärnu City Government and private donors. The exterior window in the east wall of the sanctuary was the last window awaiting restoration in the renovated façade section. A donation covered one third of the required self-financing. Warm thanks to Pärnu City Government, Mart Hirtentreu and every other supporter!

The Nikolai Street fence of St Elizabeth’s Church

Fence restoration

Status on 9 June 2026: €3,000 raised towards €13,264.

A maple tree has damaged the Nikolai Street fence and its foundation. The foundation work costs €3,348 and restoration of the fence €9,916.

What supporters have already made possible

Donations have produced visible and lasting results throughout St Elizabeth’s Church. This extensive gallery documents the work and shows that the parish can turn support into real outcomes.

Restored windows and details of the window work in 2026

Roof, cornices, façades and doors

In recent years the roof structures and cornices, the Nikolai Street façade and the exterior door of the confirmation hall have been restored. In summer 2025 the north and south façades were restored and work began on several nave windows.

Upgrading the sound system

In May 2025 the mixing console and radio microphones were replaced with digital equipment, greatly improving on the analogue system used for more than twenty years. The lectern microphones and wall-mounted loudspeakers remain future steps.

The ceiling, Nikolai Street fence and tower still await work, and the transept organ needs voicing. The amount already completed gives confidence that the next stages can also be achieved with supporters’ help.
