Hybrid Confirmation Course Begins

A hybrid confirmation course begins on Thursday, 12 February and concludes with Confirmation at Pentecost on 24 May. Most classes will be held as online lectures using Zoom.

During the course, candidates must nevertheless attend at least five Sunday Masses, either at Pärnu St Elizabeth’s Parish or another parish of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. Two face-to-face meetings will also be held before Confirmation. Each participant should read one New Testament Gospel of their choice—Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. A New Testament may be obtained from the parish free of charge for this purpose.

This is a pilot project in the Diocese of Saare-Lääne, prompted by the fact that many people interested in Confirmation spend much of their time away from home because of their work or other circumstances.

Classes take place on Thursdays from 19:00 to 20:30. For a valid reason, a recording may be watched later. After each class, the candidate must also complete a short online test on the subject covered; this provides the basis for recording attendance.
