Fourth Sunday of Easter (Jubilate)

The name Jubilate (“rejoice”), taken from the antiphon of today’s psalm (Psalm 66:1), expresses the character of the Easter season. With joy, the Church celebrates the Lord’s Resurrection and his victory over death, and turns its gaze towards the new life in heaven, where Jesus has gone to prepare a dwelling place for his own.

Christians have no lasting city here, but seek the city that is to come (Hebrews 13:14). The Resurrection of Jesus has already given them a new nature. When Christ returns, they will become like his glorified body.
